This position will provide the qualified candidate an opportunity to work in a global, fast paced, fun team environment with exposure to several cross-functional areas including Design Studio, Ergonomics, Tier 1/2 Suppliers, Program Management and Electrical Engineering. What you'll do...

Core Engineering Design and Release ownership of an electronic customer interface responsible for a key function within the vehicle

· Design responsible for appearance and function from concept to launch.

· Interface w/ vehicle craftsmanship/lighting groups through final appearance approvals.

· Facilitate discussions between external suppliers and internal software management groups.

· Define system function for new electronic shift system customer interface.

· Define feel/efforts and ergonomics of the user interface.

· Define appearance and functional requirements

· Manage design rules and component/system level specifications and requirements.

· Manage supplier and vehicle level testing for related software and hardware.

· Lead sound quality delivery for the user interface.

· Interface with vehicle level electrical systems engineers to define vehicle level system requirements.

· Manage software interface between the CAD data management group and the device.

· Manage Supply Base for Auto Transmission User Interfaces

· Responsible for review and approval of system level dimensional stack-ups

· Review schematics and interpret compatibility between interfacing modules and subsystems.

· Ownership of DFMEA's and managing linkages w/ the PFMEA's and Control Plan's.

· Interface w/ Internal Supplier Quality Engineer and support Supplier Quality engagement meetings with the suppliers.

· Analyze data and make recommendations for improved reliability and durability performance.

· Responsible for managing core component packaging and integration.

· Work with design teams to understand and improve component performance, reliability and durability to meet key governmental safety requirements.

You'll have...

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering

· Experience with CAN communication tools (work and/or internship)

· Ability to read and construct circuit diagrams

· Experience in the automotive or electronics fields.

· Experience with data management for CAN messaging and database.

· Six-Sigma mindset

Even better, you may have...

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

· Knowledge of vehicle interior lighting

· Craftsmanship experience related to interior automotive components or other user interfaces

· EMC experience desired

· Previous design/engineering experience on injection molded parts (IP / center stack / console / shifter are prime examples)

· PPAP experience

· Craftsmanship experience related to interior automotive components or other user interfaces

· Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification

· Must be able to work with global cross functional teams for issue resolution

· Component test experience with bench and/or dyno

· Experience with systems such as WERS, AIMS, FEDE, TeamCenter, and Integrator a plus

This position is a range of salary grades SG5 - SG8 .
