Responsibilities

The practice consists of outpatient visits and has one physician, two receptionists, two medical assistants, one x-ray technician and one phlebotomist.

Position Highlights:

  • Physician would see patients who are 18 years old and up and take call on their own patients unless out of town. Inpatient admissions and rounding are covered by a Hospitalist.

  • Office hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • There is an option to work 4-10 hour work days.

  • Physician would be expected to work on Wednesdays and either one long day during the week until 7:00 p.m. or an early 7:30 a.m. start.

  • Opportunity for growth to be discussed at time of interview

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.

  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.

  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.

  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.

Additional Preferences

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency program

  • BE Internal Medicine / BC Internal Medicine preferred

  • 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience as an Internal Medicine physician in a similar primary care setting is highly desirable
