TheIndustry Business Architect (IBA)is a strategic, customer-facing role. The IBA leads and manages the engagement with customers to assess their strategic objectives, identify innovation scenarios, determine key improvement opportunities and uncover sources of incremental value. Working alongside the sales and various solutions advisory presales specialists, the IBA helps customers translate their business strategy into a digital roadmap - that will deliver on their business objectives and assist them in realising long term transformational change.
Key areas of responsibility:
Industry demand generation as the industry expert, the IBA will be responsible for demand generation and building / driving the industry pipeline for Federal Government initiatives. The IBA maintains a thought leader profile through publication of blogs and articles and interacts regularly with analyst community to enhance SAPs profile in the industry.
Account specific demand generation as the industry expert, the IBA will be responsible for leading strategic account planning sessions with customers, facilitate customer visioning workshops and lead the delivery of value focused engagements. The IBA will be responsible for establishing a roadmap to realise transformation outcomes for our Federal Government customers and secure support from the relevant Federal Government stakeholders to implement the strategy. The IBA will work together with the Virtual Account Team (VAT) to draw out the business and solution architecture to help Federal Government customers realise their vision.
End to end deal execution The IBA will work with the sales team and orchestrate the VAT from qualifying opportunities, collaborate on the selling strategies, to delivering various services as needed to bring the opportunities to a successful close.
The position requires a senior individual with a strong blend of Federal Government industry expertise and digital transformation experience. It is an expectation of the role that this individual will be able to build and maintain relationships with senior executives across Federal Government agencies.
Be a trusted advisor to Senior Government Officials and C-level management as well as their teams to support them in their transformation journey.
Work closely with IAEs to qualify opportunities andcollaborate on the sellingstrategy todeterminethepropertimingand extent of presalesand other Value-Added Team (VAT)engagement.
Drive demand generation and account planning, opportunity planning and opportunity qualification in collaboration with the Federal Government sales account team.
Work with Solutions Advisory leadership toassign the rightpresales specialistsin support of qualified opportunitiesand to foster continued individual and team development.
Play a critical post-sale supporting role in ensuring continuity and success in the customers subsequent adoption, consumption, and further expansion of SAP solutions.
Embracediversity andcreativecollaboration to craft a unique, compelling visionwith clear supporting themes on which the VAT can anchor their respective efforts and deliverables.
Be accountable for the development of business case documents, visioning proposals, business architecture artifacts, delivery roadmaps, executive presentations, and the overall outcome of the Solution Proof phase of opportunity pursuits.
Work within a matrix style organisation across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Mentor and guide sales and VAT colleagues on strategic opportunities.
Participate in the delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions, industry events for customers, partners and internal audiences.
Embrace andenforce consistent presales processes, including opportunityqualification and context, dry-runs, discovery sessions(w/ and w/o customer interaction), digital assetsand other tools to ensure superiorand compellingdemos,presentations, POVs and other deliverables.
Consistently model Best Run behaviours and inspire SAPs next generation of presales leaders.
Help identify and mentor rising talent through real-world field interactions and high impact initiatives.
Required Experience / Skills
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent degree from accredited university.
Multi- year professional experience, including at least 10 years in public sector, with 2 years of SAP product / business application software, implementation experience
10 years of relevant experience including the ability to influence, build and motivate teams, Sales and Sales Processes, Performance Management, and delivery of high volume/short duration work packages.
Good understanding of role of IT in business, ability to communicate the business value of technology decisions
Solid business case creation, analysis and research expertise
Experience in diverse technology landscapes and process / technology integration issues
Experience in developing deployment project plans and long-term IT roadmaps
Good understanding of the architectural principles of cloud-based platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenant, multi-tiered infrastructure
Process design, optimisation, and design thinking experience.
Familiarity with Australian/Five Eyes security concepts desirable.
Proven executive communications and presentation skills.
