Job Title: Entry-Level Mechanic

Location: Deadhorse, AK

Job Type: Rotational Shift, 3 weeks on/off

We provide a full range of onshore, near-shore and offshore oil and gas support services with extensive experience to meet the challenges of oil and gas-related projects in the Arctic.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Position Overview: As an Entry-Level Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, tire repairs and changes, and basic electrical repairs. You will also assist experienced mechanics with various tasks in the shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career as aheavy duty diesel mechanic and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance:

Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.

Perform basic services including checking and topping off fluids, inspecting belts and hoses, and completing safety inspections.

Tire Repair and Changes:

Remove, install, and repair tires.

Diagnose and repair tire issues, including punctures and flats.

Basic Electrical Repairs:

Assist with diagnosing and repairing basic electrical issues, including fuses, lights, and wiring.

Replace faulty electrical components as needed.

Assistance to Mechanics:

Support experienced mechanics with more complex repairs and maintenance tasks.

Help with disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.

Keep work areas clean and organized, and manage tools and equipment.

Digital Documentation:

Provide excellent notes and document all repairs completed using app based technology.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous heavy duty repair, tire repair, shop experience or formal training is required.

  • Skills:

  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills.

  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in the automotive field.

  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

  • Comfortable working in various conditions, including adverse weather, under vehicles and in a workshop environment.
