Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in DeSoto, Kansas. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and enhance critical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. This is a contract-to-hire position with a 90-day assignment length, with the option to extend to 180 days. You will work a 40-hour week on a flexible schedule, including both day and night shifts.
Responsibilities
Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs using standard equipment and hand tools with moderate supervision.
Conduct well-defined troubleshooting and repair on facilities equipment with moderate supervision.
Work effectively with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure adherence to work rules.
Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to proper supervision.
Act as a First Responder, moving rapidly through the factory to any manufacturing areas requiring an operations response.
Assess utility outages and take corrective measures needed to rectify the situation.
Regularly interface with Engineering, Construction, and other work groups including tenants.
Maintain appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and CMMS checklists.
Adhere to all safety and company policies, safety regulations, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Utilize CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting.
Essential Skills
Intermediate skills and abilities in electrical and mechanical equipment and components.
Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-pressure compressed systems, exhaust systems, dry and dust collection systems, process vacuum, nitrogen, process cooling water, hot reverse osmosis water, and nMP and electrolyte systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Ability to work with moderate supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6+ years of related work experience.
Experience in mechanical engineering or construction management.
Experience utilizing scheduling software.
Preferred licenses: PIT License, MEWP, State Issued Driver’s License.
Preferred certifications: CPR Certification, QET Certification, NFPA70E, OSHA 10 or 30, HAZWOPER 8 or 40.

Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced industrial environment with a flexible schedule of both day and night shifts. The position requires physical activity, including sitting (40%), walking (30%), standing (20%), and lifting (10%). Regular lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs., with team-lift for weights over 35 lbs., is required. Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory. The interview process is virtual, and preferred interview times are during the day shift, Monday to Friday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
