BlueHalo has an opportunity available for a full-time Research Scientist to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).  The focus of this position is on extending our understanding of resilience to environmental degradation in conducting polymers and 2D materials.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Experimental research on conducting polymer thin film processing and characterization
• Device fabrication and characterization (e.g. Field Effect Transistor (FET), Extended Gate FET)
• Microscopy and other materials characterization techniques to understand the structure of materials and their stability in various environmental conditions
• Presentation of research at national conferences and publication in high-impact journals is expected

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL BRING

• This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
• PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study required
• Experience with polymer thin film processing and characterization is required
• Experience with conducting polymers and 2D materials is desired
• Experience with microscopy and materials characterization is required
• Experience with electrical and optical measurements, such as conductivity, mobility, UV/Vis/ FTIR/ Raman is desired
• Excellent communication and writing skills required
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment required
