Role Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment will be designing components for rotating hardware, including pneumatic and hydraulic starters. This role is part of the Unison team and is focused on delivering world class technical solutions to our Global Industrial and Aerospace customer base. This position will sit at the TDI facility in Dayton, OH and may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design components for parts for air turbine starters

  • Prepare initial product concepts and technical proposals in response to customer requests

  • Create technical documents including 3D models, drawings, manufacturing process documents, engineering specifications, compliance matrices and engineering reports

  • Develop component test plans for design assurance, certification and acceptance testing

  • Resolve issues using established procedures, which can include consulting and collaborating with leadership or peers for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical design or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering role)

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in hardware design for industrial or aviation products, ideally rotating equipment

  • Experience with Siemens NX, Ansys, LabVIEW, Minitab, Matlab, or similar programs

  • Master's degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or equivalent from an accredited university or college

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office software package

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
