Dayton Children's Hospital Language Access Coordinator - Part Time - 1st Shift in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Patient Relations AdministrationSchedule:Part timeHours:16Job Details:The interpreter internal program is to assure that the needs of limited English proficiency patients (LEP) and deaf (ASL) American Sign Language patients and families are met in accordance with hospital policy, federal law and TJC/CMS regulatory guidelines. The internal Interpreter will be assigned outpatient clinic appointments as well as cover inpatient, emergency department interpretive needs. The Interpreter will assist with the video remote devices and assist any clinical area with questions, rebooting the system, troubleshooting any technical needs, etc. Assist in managing the hospital process for providing foreign language and ASL interpreting services for all non-English patients. Will continue to develop and implement educational material for staff on the cultural aspects of patient care, not just his/her primary language but all languages. Help develop better strategies for the internal interpreter services program. Monitor trends and recognize organizationally how we can improve resources and communication to all non-English speaking patients and families. Assist patients and families on the internal Spanish line including but not limited to billing questions/concerns, scheduling appointments, and Emergency Department triage.

Department Specific Job Details:

Preferred any of following languages: Spanish, Haitian Creole, Kinyarwanda, or Swahili.

Shift: 1st Shift hours may vary.
