BlueHalo Contracts Director in DAYTON, Ohio

OVERVIEW

BlueHalo is seeking a Contracts Director to become a part of a diverse corporate contracts team supporting BlueHalo. The Contracts Director will provide support through every aspect of the contract lifecycle and act as a valued team member to program management, business development and customers across BlueHalo.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Contracts Director responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic direction, leadership guidance, and functional expertise to a small team of contracts professionals while escalating up high level issues and keeping Contracts leadership informed. Act as a lead for conflict resolution of contract issues, while mentoring and training team members for similar results.
  • Perform contract management and administrative duties throughout the contract lifecycle including, but not limited to, proposal review and preparation, leading pre and post award negotiations, executing contract modifications, initiating contract close-outs and providing overall program support for complex, multi-year contracts
  • Lead contract negotiations with variety of customers, specializing in working with the Air Force
  • Manage and mentor other Contracts Professionals and advise Program Managers
  • Responsible for ensuring that agreements/terms and conditions comply with all applicable regulations and requirements, while also adhering to company policies.
  • Provide guidance and advise to management on contractual rights, obligations and provide contract interpretation of terms and conditions to program management/business leaders identifying risks and providing risk mitigation strategies
  • Proactively engage with program teams and customers to ensure that programs are executing to contract requirements, managing scope, and mitigating risks throughout contract execution
  • Ensure that terms and conditions comply with all contract requirements, internal policies and all Federal, State and applicable laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization, including regular senior management level briefings on key issues.

  • Broad experience with a variety of contract types: firm fixed price, cost-type, commercial/non-commercial, production, development, license, non-disclosure and teaming agreements
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL BRING

BS/BA in Business or related discipline such as Finance, Supply Chain, or Accounting or a minimum of 12 years of experience in contract management in the DoD/Intelligence community.

Experience working with DoD Customers, such as the Air Force / Space Force, having personally worked on proposals and contracts for these customers.

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Majority of career spent in Aerospace & Defense Contracts organization

Demonstrated expertise in contracts and subcontract management; specifically, as the contract negotiator or lead.

Experience in reviewing RFP/RFQ's and ensuring compliance with proposals

Experience with all-types of contracts

Ability to work independently with limited guidance

Excellent oral and written communication skills: An ability to translate between business and technical risk and communicate clearly to business and technical teams.
