The Enterprise Learning and Strategic Capability Leader for Trane Technologies will transform the learning goals, methods, and experiences across our $16BN enterprise globally. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Talent and Organization Capability this role will have leadership for an integrated approach to define the strategy for enterprise learning, cultivating every employee’s ability to explore, learn and grow positioning the company for success.

Based in our headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina, this role will partner closely with HR Vice Presidents, HR Business Partners, Learning Leaders, Strategic Capability Owners, Functional Leaders and other stakeholders to understand and diagnose the companies needs, translating them into a learning strategy, partnering to integrate strategic capabilities across the organization and leading a team who helps our employees become peer teachers, guides and coaches.

The Enterprise Learning and Strategic Capability Leader is a steward for rallying a growth mindset, infusing curiosity and delivering on our commitment of opportunity for all. This leader will help us explore and execute on a skills-first, mindset and behavior orientation as part of our integrated talent management strategy. They also prioritize spend and resource allocation following through with ROI as a true business leader. This leader will join our Talent and Organization Capability Leadership Team and interact regularly with our Human Resources Leadership Team requiring the utmost personal integrity, leadership, and values.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive, enterprise-wide learning and strategic capability strategy that is informed by enterprise and business strategies and needs assessment

  • Clearly defined enterprise learning strategy that is socialized, forward-thinking and designed to enable the business strategy, through identifying, building, and enhancing capabilities, skills, mindsets and behaviors employees and leaders now and in the future

  • Ongoing evaluation and review of our learning offer, technology enablers and digital learning integrated with our talent management strategy to optimize the inventory of our learning offer

  • Establish clear metrics and evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of learning across the enterprise

  • Lead the financial aspects of learning across the enterprise to ensure investment and impact are tied; assessing whether spend and learning outcomes are aligned, and desirable behavior change achieved

  • Establish an enterprise learning community which spans functional, leadership and business learning leaders ensuring coverage and impact for all while reinforcing the Trane Technologies BOS and our cultural pillars

  • Engage, inspire and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship and guidance to develop skills and foster a culture of innovation and transformation

  • Create strong collaboration with internal stakeholder groups through ongoing formal connections, needs assessment and other linkage mechanisms

  • Lead the enterprise approach to identifying, mobilizing and driving strategy for strategic capabilities in partnership with key stakeholders

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in learning and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation across the organization

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have demonstrated enterprise learning, transformation and/or organization development experience in a global, industrial business paired with human resources or general management leadership. This role requires a leader of vision, transformation, influence, passion, flexibility, and a steward of change with business knowledge and judgement.

  • 15+ years of experience in learning with at least 10+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide team

  • Experience driving a highly successful transformational change initiative

  • Embodies the spirit of diversity and inclusion and educates and inspires senior business leaders and employees towards a culture of respecting differences

  • Effective internal and external communicator and vision builder who translates word into action, delivering results

  • Possesses a deep knowledge of digital learning technologies and learning inventories

  • Demonstrated ability to enable growth mindset and curiosity

  • Deep understanding of integrating learning into talent management

  • Strong awareness and expertise of capabilities and organization design

  • Experience progressing the work on skills-based methodologies across organizations

  • Analytical mindset and the ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure the impact of learning initiatives.

  • Ability to coach, engage and influence executive and senior business leaders
