  • Implement Davenport School District Physical Education Curriculum.

  • Attend all physical education professional development.

  • Participate fully as a productive CTT member.

  • Implement building and district level initiatives.

  • Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community members.

  • Able to implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse learning community.

  • Ability to establish a positive learning environment.

  • Participates in IEP development, work meetings, and parent conferences.

  • Encourage parental involvement and communicate regularly with parents.

  • Establishes and maintains high standard of pupil behavior to achieve a learning atmosphere in the classroom.

  • Willingness and ability to utilize MTSS system to support student learning and achievement.

  • Other duties as assigned by administrator.

  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure.

  • Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.

  • Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.

  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

  • Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.

  • Knowledgeable of about secondary-level practices

  • Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to children and parents’ rights to privacy

  • Demonstrated knowledge of differentiation of instruction necessary to meet needs of diverse student community; evidence such knowledge has been implemented successfully in prior experience.

  • Experience teaching speed, agility, strength, and conditioning programs preferred.

  • USAW-LEVEL I or NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification or willingness to pursue preferred.
