The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year.

What you’ll do:
Primary Function:
This position is for a project role in the Engineering group as part of the new product development and existing product support team in Eaton’s Mission Systems Division (MSD). The engineer will work with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) on a range of development activities for the systems, components, and equipment as part of the Oxygen concentrator team. The engineer performs project engineering work from planning to design to implementation. This includes: preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring engineering projects; coordinating work within the scope of assigned projects; and communicating expectations and requirements. The engineer contributes effectively towards project goals and identifies and anticipates project needs and risks. They are often the Technical Leader for large projects or multiple small projects. The engineer works with limited supervision, has strong technical skills, proactively seeks support from Chief Engineers or Subject Matter Experts, and can adapt and react quickly to internal and external customer demands.
In this role you will:
Primary responsibility is for the design and development of moderately complex products for new oxygen system products, processes, and technologies as well as redesigns existing products on time, within budget, and with required quality.
Coordinate integrated product development teams; understands and assigns tasking from design specifications, analyses, and design drawings and documentation.
Develop project plans for development activities including defining tasks, resource requirements, design reviews, and qualification and verification plans.
Review project-related documentation and analysis results to ensure their completeness, project applicability and, with the support of appropriate SMEs, quality.
Evaluate suitability of current products for new applications; works with team to develop bids and proposals for new, modified, or upgraded products. Awareness of external trends relevant to projects.
Work with the team to verify models for component and product characteristics.
Interface with customers as part of development programs; works closely with suppliers on component and product development.
Participate in ideation for new products and technologies; provides innovative ideas for improvements to existing products.
Applied advanced tools in problem solving and project management to solve technical issues.
Understand risk, design trade-offs, and facilitates the incorporation of design for manufacturing and cost. Can interpret product requirements and specify appropriate enhancements to the design as per DFA & DFM fundamentals.
Have an understanding of drawing standards with a basic understanding of GD&T application for repeatable part dimensions using datum referencing dimensioning schemes.
Understand and can facilitate the development of system level and sub-system/ component level requirements flow down.
Deeper understanding of aerospace regulatory standards, regulations, and certifications
Collaborate with analysts and SMEs and challenges approach and results.
Coach and mentor junior engineers on oxygen product development technology
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution is required
Minimum 7 years of engineering design or project experience
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA in order to be considered. Active Duty Military service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
10 years of engineering design and project experience
Experience in an engineering aerospace environment
Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or ProPM
Demonstrated experience working within the V-Model of system development lifecycle
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for engineering design
Ability to perform basic structural and/or performance analysis.
Working knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
Experience working on cross-functional teams.
Good technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
