YOUR ROLE
Lead key technical initiatives by independently developing innovative, sustainable hair products and technologies that meet rigorous performance, quality, and timing requirements while supporting broader product initiatives and business strategy to completion
Lead Shampoo platform development with focus on sustainable practices and materials; handle complex formulation and manufacturing issues for new and existing products while demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations across international markets
Develop advanced technical models to explain and predict results, demonstrating exceptional ability to plan, perform, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex technical experiments; present compelling technical findings to upper management using clear, simple communication enhanced by graphics, pictures, and concrete examples
Drive future competitive strategies by applying in-depth knowledge of formulations, products, and trends; conduct thorough patent searches on project-related technologies and provide strategic summaries; actively seek out and analyze industry literature to inform new assignments and technologies. Apply for patents.
Collaborate effectively across departments including Marketing, Manufacturing, QA, and Salon Services to drive project success; coach and mentor junior department members in the art of cosmetic and consumer science, approaching new challenges as opportunities to learn and grow while conducting independent laboratory experiments

YOUR SKILLS
Background in developing, formulating hair care products, specifically shampoos, is required.
Minimum of a BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field, 10+ years experience working in formulations lab and performing quality testing procedures
Project management experience is preferred
Must have knowledge of technical information of hair care formulations
Ability to effectively translate technical into non-technical communication
Ability to be both creative and process oriented in support of driving innovation and execution
Self-motivated, organized and ability to prioritize workload
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer skills are necessary.
Strong presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills are critical.
Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
Ability to travel 15 % of time.
The salary for this role is $90,000.00 - $140,00.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
