Description:

The Director of Perioperative Services provides nursing leadership which supports and operationalizes the Trinity Health mission at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. The Director of Perioperative Services provides nursing operational planning and analysis, ensures that quality patient care is delivered according to the nursing process, and assures efficiency of daily operations. This includes disciplined execution of activities to optimize efficient surgical scheduling and patient throughput. In addition, he/she is accountable for all patient care related activities occurring in perioperative services including the quality of care and daily productivity at Mercy Fitzgerald Hosptial. Management of clinical and administrative policies, practices, and processes are also accountabilities of the role. The Director of Perioperative Services works with the Chief Nursing Officer to attract and develop a team of highly capable, committed nursing leaders and staff who share a passion for quality patient care and customer satisfaction, creating a patient and customer focused nursing department. He/she develops collegial relationships and works with a team comprised of other nursing leaders and staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, other members of the operating unit leadership team, and bargaining unit leadership. The Director of Perioperative Services is accountable for the safety of all patients undergoing procedures and holds staff and physicians accountable for the same.

Requirements:

BSN required:

Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.

Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of PA.

BLS certification. Certification in area of practice preferred.

Minimum: Five (5) to Ten (10) years progressive clinical experience.

Minimum Five (5) years management experience preferred.

Experience managing in a union environment required.

Clinical proficiency and clinical certification required
