Registered Nurse - One Day Surgery - PRN
Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standardsof practice.
Assess patientneeds,to ensure complete and safe care for patients throughout the pre-operative and the postoperative patient experience.
Develops a goal directed plan of care for each patient to ensure that all assessed needs have been addressed within current standards of nursing practice.
Implements nursing care inskillfuland consistent manner to meet the needs ofpatient.
Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of care being provided to all patients to ensure overall quality of care provided.
Uses electronic nursing documentation while accurately charging for patient supplies per department policy and procedure.
Evaluate the physiological and psychosocial needs of the patient.
ProvidesPre-Operative Patient Teaching.
Safely and adequately provides orutilizesequipment and supplies based on the uniquepatientneed.
Evaluates Patient Outcomes.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact Staterequired
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns includingweek-endsand holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Associationrequired
