The Phone Triage RN is a nursing professional care provider who utilizes the nursing process, nursing standards, and physicians orders to plan, provide and direct nursing practice. Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works in a well-lit, ventilated and air conditioned area. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting and bending are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and antineoplastic agents. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.
Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. ADN or BSN Degree preferred. On-the-job training in triage.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience as an RN; one to two (1-2) years of telephone triage experience, preferably in medical practice setting.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Current license in the State of Kentucky. Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
