Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center PHARMACIST INTERN in Danville, Kentucky

  • Job Summary

  • Under the general direction of a Pharmacist, Pharmacist Interns will work with Licensed Pharmacists to provide care for patients in the areas of operational support and clinical services. Job duties are delineated by professional year of Pharmacy School. Essential functions and responsibilities will start as central operational Pharmacy activities in the first year and expand to include clinical responsibilities during the second, third and fourth years of Pharmacy School.   • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort

  • Limited office and storage space; small work area. Must be attentive to detail. Stress from deadlines and strict regulations. Occasional prolonged standing or walking. Some lifting of supplies/equipment. May be involved in the preparation and delivery of chemotherapy agents. The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing supplemental tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.

  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

  • Education: Must be enrolled in Pharmacy School.

  • Experience: Must have sufficient experience in a hospital Pharmacy to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

  • EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Skills required delineated with year of Pharmacy School. Hospital Pharmacy experience and computer experience highly preferred.

  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  • Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Intern permit.
