Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center CREDENTIALING SPECIALIST in Danville, Kentucky

  • Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging processes for all medical providers employed by Ephraim McDowell Health. Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed, re-credentialed, and participating with health plans, hospitals and patient care facilities. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. Must exhibit the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

  • Provides customer support for 200+ providers (physicians and allied health) and their office managers in a six county service area; acts a provider relations representative for CooperativeCare, self-insured insurance plan for Ephraim McDowell Health Associates/Dependents and work directly with Westlake Benefits Group to ensure proper claims processing when questions arise regarding non-network providers/facilities; responsible for facility credentialing on all entities associated with Ephraim McDowell Health, including Ephraim McDowell Health Resource off-site clinics, MedSource and McDowell Wellness Center; provide support for Central Kentucky Physicians, Inc., Medical Director, Board of Directors, and CooperativeCare, Inc. Board of Directors.

  • Facilitates the efficient operations of the VP/CFO and administrative offices by providing comprehensive and complex support functions, by performing a wide variety of duties and responsibilities and special projects by demonstrating proficient communication, Organizational and work management skills of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.

  • Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort

  • Works in clean, well-lit, ventilated and air conditioned office area, but visits to numerous departments are sometimes necessary. Exposure to a high degree of interruption and stressful situations, time restraints, and deadlines. Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone. Requires occasional move or positioning items weighing up to 20 lbs. unassisted.

  • Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree preferred.

  • Experience: Two (2) years of relevant credentialing experience.

  • EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 1. Knowledge and understanding of the credentialing process. 2. Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. 3. Excellent communication skills including letters, memos and emails. 4. Excellent attention to detail. 5. Ability to research and analyze data. 6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the Organization. 8. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and internet resources.

  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPSC) preferred but not required.
