The Supervisor, Production Training will supervise the activities of the production trainers. Supervisor will have ownership and responsibility for day-to-day activities in the training center. Ensure that training is completed to manufacturing and training standards and compliant to Abiomed’s Quality System. Responsible for continuous improvement activities in the training center, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a positive work environment. Supervisor will engage with production associate new hires, setting individual and department expectations and promoting Abiomed culture. Responsible for the supply of training components, and ensuring that the Training Center tools, fixtures and equipment are aligned with current production practices.

Principle Duties:

• Establish a culture of excellence in training execution, continuous improvement, and communication.

• Lead a production training team (process, material, and equipment) to meet and exceed targets related to production quality and demand.

• Coordinate, prioritize trainings; as well as communicate and report on cross training status for all production areas.

• Perform administrative duties such as regular employee meetings, timekeeping/attendance/vacation requests, performance appraisals (input with manager), disciplinary actions, interviewing, rewards & recognition, training and development.

• Assist Global Training Manager by providing data and analysis on training metrics and production yields to determine improvement opportunities.

• Help identify and resolve training problems/roadblocks utilizing problem solving tools such as: 5 Why’s, Cause and Effect, brainstorming, etc. Ability to know when to escalate an issue.

• Ensure compliance to the training plans, procedures, and industry regulations.

• Support NHOP classes, site tours and other manufacturing training programs

• Coordinate / execute hiring Skills Assessments

• Responsible for safety and safety training in the Training Center.

• Support Production Associate new hire onboarding and assessment

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• High School Degree required, associate degree or higher in technical field preferred.

• 2 years supervisory experience in medical device or other highly regulated environment preferred.

• Minimum 5 years related experience in a Manufacturing environment.

• Quality Assurance experience & knowledge of GMP required.

• Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives

• Ability to gain cooperation of others and lead team members.

• Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of SAP desired.
