We are looking for a Sr. Machinist II to join our team! We are a small state of the art machine shop in a rapidly growing medical device company that specializes in collaborating closely with engineers for short-run prototypes & design changes of fixtures, tooling, new product concepts and the occasional repairs. Our equipment is under 5 years old that consists of mostly Proto-Trak mills & lathes. (SX & RX controls).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Support the development of new products by fabricating prototype components.

• Fabricate metal and plastic components utilizing machine shop equipment.

• Execute work orders in a timely manner.

• Review incoming work orders for scheduling and completeness.

• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and shop is kept in a clean, organized, and safe state.

• Assist others with machine shop services as required.

• Provide design consulting to engineering.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and reverse engineer parts to be remade and or modified.

• Lead machine shop enhancement projects including safety policies, engineering outreach programs, and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required. Within a technical field preferred.

• 10 years of machining experience using milling machines, lathes, saws, sanders, and grinders.

• All around (class C/B) machining knowledge.

• Familiar with manual mills & lathes including Proto Trak lathes & mills.

• Able to read blueprints per ANSI/ISO standards including geometric tolerancing.

• Ability to execute tasks in a timely manner under minimal supervision.

• Able to prioritize tasks.

• Computer literacy required.

• Basic knowledge of SolidWorks preferred but training could be a possibility.
