Aimbridge Hospitality Aquatics Director- Waterpark of New England in Danvers, Massachusetts

Job Summary

The Aquatics Director oversees the operations of all waterpark facilities which include front desk, gift shop, arcade, party rooms, pool and associated locker rooms.

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Aquatics Director is responsible for the supervision and management of all facets of the Aquatics Department at the hotel.

Exempt managers must customarily and regular direct the work of at least 3 full-time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties must consist of administrative executive or professional tasks more than 50 percent of the time and job duties must also involve the use of discretion and independent judgement more than 50 percent of the time.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.

  • Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Customer/client orientation.

  • Detail oriented. Project Management skills.

  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all staff and lifeguards as policies dictate and budget guidelines allow. Ensure that all staff have appropriate and updated certifications on file.

  • Develops marketable initiatives that attract audiences to recreational activities and/or events.

  • Evaluates plans to ensure adequate resources are supplied while maintaining financial standards.

  • Oversees recreational event personnel vendor operations and volunteer activities.

  • Develops and maintains financial reporting to enhance and/or utilize funds as effectively as possible.

  • Assesses recreational actives to identify risks meet community needs and maintain safety regulations.

  • Communicates and consults with the hotel leadership regarding recreational strategies.

  • Complete all required safety and quality documentation and drills on required timelines.

  • Provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of the waterpark EAP and safety, including staff training in CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen.

  • Ensure that pools meet all health and safety standards including a clean environment, appropriate air and water temperature, chemical balance, and timely pool water testing and backwashing. Secure pool facilities when not in use. Advise OP's Director of safety and repair needs and concerns immediately.

  • Monitor, approve, and sumbit payroll

  • All other duties as assigned or needed.
