Technician III - PDP Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

Medtronics Interventional Vascular Structural Heart (IVSH) business Danvers, Ma location, is looking for an AME Technician III that will provide support for Danvers Shared Technology Center group in a flexible environment. Position Responsibilities

This position will have an emphasis in inspection, measurement techniques, and data collection that supportdevelopment, prototyping, validation and production activities. You will work with various engineers and other technicians to complete tasks such as:

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure the values and record functional operation and/or acceptance of components.

  • Usepredetermined methods, operations, setups with prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.

  • Support the team in the development of new measurement/testing techniques, test methods, and test method validations to support new product development and subsequent validations.

  • Work with various engineers, technicians in product development efforts with an end goal of successfully achieving commercialization objectives and timelines.

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or required including various post-extrusion part processing and packaging and shipping.

  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and design reviews in conjunction with assigned projects.

  • Provide details and communicated updates as required to related engineer and team members. Carry out tasks within projects to meet agreed upon timelines.

  • Maintain GMP and GDP compliance within the area.

  • Demonstrate a record of excellent performance in meeting high standards of quality, quantity, and dependability (attendance and punctuality).

  • Participate in continuous learning and problem solving.

  • Lift light weight material continuously (5-25 lbs) and move or lift average weight material frequently (30 lbs.)

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Basic understanding of plastic extrusion processing (free extrusion, composite multi-layer extrusion, multi-lumen tubing and extrusion over a core)

  • Previous medical device inspection experience

  • Experience with GMP and GDP requirements

  • Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each

  • Technical Writing Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Certified SAP Power User

  • ASQ certification

  • Ability to work overtime as required

  • Ability to work well on teams

  • Available for limited travel - for training purposes
