PATH at Stone Summit invites applications for the position of Primary Clinician.
We are looking for candidates who are clinically skilled, committed to supporting the development of young adults in innovative ways, and flexible and open to differences and new ideas.
About PATH:
PATH is a small, open, close-knit therapeutic community that offers intensive residential mental health treatment for young adults aged 18-30 years, in a comfortable home environment located in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. Residents work daily with our specialized team to become more engaged in our community and confident in themselves. The goal is for residents to develop a sense of mastery, reflectiveness, and effectiveness in embracing life. PATH is comprised of a multidisciplinary, diverse, and psychodynamically informed clinical and professional staff that strives to provide a welcoming and affirming environment for all.
Primary Clinician Description and Duties:
The Primary Clinician serves several roles for the residents including psychotherapist, case manager/navigator, and team liaison. The primary clinician is involved in direct clinical service to residents and is engaged in:
Conducting admission intakes
Creating clinical treatment plans and monitoring resident progress
Providing intensive (3x/week) psychodynamically oriented individual psychotherapy
Supporting crisis work (as needed)
Supporting communication with residents families, including some family therapy as needed
Facilitating at least one psychodynamic process group and one psychoeducational group per week
Primary clinicians are also the case manager/navigator for residents, providing necessary support to facilitate other aspects of their treatment process with the treatment team, including but not limited to vocational, academic, and recreational engagement. Finally, Primary Clinicians also serve as liaison for the resident with other team members.
Requirements for Primary Clinician:
Possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA- accredited program and the completion of an APA-accredited internship.
Postdocs are encouraged to apply. Candidates with an MSW from psychodynamic programs and appropriate post-graduate psychodynamic training are also encouraged to apply.
Be licensed in the state of Vermont; if not licensed in Vermont, must become licensed within 18 months of beginning work.
Have strong clinical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Have at least 1-3 years experience working with young adults.
Proof of vaccination for the COVID virus or willingness to wear a face mask at all times if not vaccinated.
Hours and supervision:
Primary Clinicians are supervised by the Clinical Director.
The Primary Clinician position averages between 24-35 hours a week, 49 weeks per year, with on-call and weekend availability as needed.
