Excellent Outpatient Opportunity for Pulmonary/ Critical Care/ Sleep Physician – Danbury, Connecticut – 60 Miles from New York City

Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time employed Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Physician at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Danbury is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County, CT, and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York state. Our long established and busy practice includes eleven physicians and four Advanced Practitioners. Our team coverage includes the ICU, Step Down, PCU, and consults at Danbury Hospital in addition to our outpatient practice, located just minutes from the hospital. PFT and Cardiopulmonary exercise lab are integrated into the practice. Teaching internal medicine residents is a large part of our practice. We also participate in lung tumor board. Recent and new graduates, including 2025 candidates, are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and looking to join a dedicated and collegial team. Additional Sleep Medicine training and board certification/eligibility are required for this position. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses as well as relocation.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide variety of 4 season recreational activities. Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University as well as a number of historical sites, museums, theaters and art galleries. The area has high rated public and private school options and universities. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible.
