Penn Engineering Manufacturing Operator (Cold Forming Trainee) in DANBORO, Pennsylvania

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Under close supervision operates a minimum of one cold forming machine.
  • Receives close supervision from team leader, works from set-up sheets, detailed machine parts drawings, machine manuals, specifications, tool charts and instructions using micrometers & hand tools.
  • Observes and/or monitors the automatic operation of cold formers machines.
  • Inspects and gauges completed parts from every pan to verify correct dimensions and profile against drawing specifications, may notify team leader if parts are fully outside of drawing tolerances. May make the necessary adjustment to machine as necessary to produce good quality parts.
  • May be required to troubleshoot, remove, repair, and replace machine tools to produce quality product as the operator's training program progresses.
  • Completes paperwork and statistical process control (SPC) charts as necessary.
  • Detects and reports parts that are out of specification.  
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including adding oil, and maintaining cleanliness of the work area.
  • Completes time, production and quality reports as necessary.
  • Collaborates with operators from other shifts to transmit and exchange information pertinent to the current work.
  • Observes all safety regulations at all times.
  • Performs other duties as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical Ability.
    • Use of micrometers, calipers, comparators, gages, hand tools, etc.
    • Read and understand blueprints.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand approximately 8 - 10 hrs. a day.
  • Able to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods of time while exerting force (pushing or pulling) on hand tools used to adjust machine.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work.
  • Manual dexterity.
