WR Systems Embedded Engineer, Lead in Dam Neck, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start

Travel Requirements : Negligible

Location: Dam Neck, VA

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for an Embedded Engineer, Lead to participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software for both Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and embedded processors.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Independently analyze the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources and modern hardware solutions.

· Provide assistance and routine consultation to users in the development and integration of systems and environments.

· Develop embedded radar distribution capabilities utilizing FPGA’s, SOC’s and microcontrollers.

· Review and develop architectures, component functional allocation and flows, interfaces, system processing and performance for AN/SPA systems.

· Develop descriptions and data flows of proposed systems and perform requirement analysis.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with three (3) years of full-time professional experience in the design, development, production, or testing of electronic, electro-mechanical and/or hydro-electronic equipment, with one (1) year of full-time experience.

    · Six (6)+ years of professional experience in systems, software, electrical or mechanical engineering with three (3) years of having full-time professional experience in the design, development, production, or testing of electronic, electro-mechanical, and/or hydro-electronic equipment.

    · Programming experience in languages such as C, C++, VHDL, AHDL.

    · Experience in embedded systems development, debugging, and troubleshooting and with real-time operating systems.

    · Must be analytical and have the ability to problem-solve with a track record of working well on engineering teams.

    · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

    · Eagerness to continually learn and improve.

    · FPGA experience.
