Summary
The Vice President (VP) Marketing is responsible for developing and executing overall marketing strategy to drive business growth, brand awareness, and customer engagement. The VP Marketing collaborates with senior leadership to align marketing efforts with company goals, analyzes market trends, and ensures that campaigns effectively target and resonate with key audiences. The role requires strong strategic thinking, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics.
This position will support our Marketing team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead a dynamic and skilled marketing team responsible for crafting brand positioning, go-to-market strategies, product marketing, sales enablement tools, industry relations and events, as well as social media initiatives
Develop marketing strategy and plans that strengthen existing customer relationships, support revenue goals, and further differentiate Freeman from competitors
Develop repeatable, scalable sales tools and marketing programs to accelerate time to market while managing competing priorities
Develop strong relationships with Sales and Executive Leadership to stay aligned on business priorities and revenue pacing; proactively adjust plans and programs to meet changing business demands
Orchestrate opportunities to increase the company’s external awareness and industry presence through thought leadership, events, programs, and sponsorship
Proactively identify areas of the business that require additional marketing support and strategically select the most effective resources and tactics to drive impact
Develop and present the annual plan and strategy
Translate macro trends and industry nuances into insights and big ideas with actionable marketing plans
Advance Freeman’s marketing strategies & programs using existing channels and testing new/different formats
Incubate new ideas and innovate Freeman’s integrated results-driven marketing to inform and inspire the event industry and brand marketers
Education & Experience
12+ years experience in broad range of corporate marketing & communications functions with 8 years as cross-functional team leader responsible for strategy, integrated planning and execution
Bachelor’s degree required
Agile leader with ability to inspire, have fun, and lead diverse and distributed marketing team
Player-coach with a proven track record of scaling teams, developing talent, driving change management, and aligning performance with overarching business objectives
Proven experience in setting an effective marketing strategy, navigating ambiguity, and competing priorities
Data-driven marketer with successful track record of high performance, integrated marketing campaigns
Experience globally launching new products and growing programs to maturity
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
Experience working in an agency setting or technology industry a plus. Experience with digital media a plus
Travel Requirements
