JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leadership of strategic oversight of medical operational activities which contribute to market performance and promote quality of care. These responsibilities may include leading development and collaboration on the implementation of medical programs/policies; enhancing relationships with providers, plan sponsors and regulatory agencies and serving as a key business partner in network development, strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Facilitates the identification and dissemination of evidence-based clinical protocols to reduce variation in care and improve quality and efficiency.

  • Evaluates utilization, efficiency, and quality measures of providers and populations. Develops strategies for improvement, reviews performance and plans adjustments when necessary.

  • Facilitates the development and implementation of decision-support tools to assist in value-based programs and risk sharing contract management.

  • Develop the key skill sets, capabilities and capacity to support BSWH need to effectively translate strategic priorities into operations.

  • Oversee the integration and coordination of system integration initiatives across all BSWH enterprise

  • Oversee and collaborate with physician leadership to change manage through influencing matrixed resources to achieve system wide performance improvement initiatives.

  • Influence and guide innovative thinking regarding efficiency and process improvement to achieve well define goals and objectives.

  • Establish strong communication, and effective, collaborative relationships with leadership including: System, Division, and Regional / Entity Leadership teams, and Department Chairs.

  • Facilitate the development of system wide resources for the transformation of the BSWH enterprise to become clinically integrated.

  • Collaborate with physician leadership for prioritization of clinical and physician integration strategies.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • MBA / MPH or advanced degree

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience

  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of regulatory compliance as related to hospital processes, and understanding the changing regulatory environment

  • Ability to create interpersonal relationships and effectiveness with relationship building among many diverse subspecialties to foster collaborative efforts.

  • Strategic operations leadership, change management, system thinking with persuasive communication skills and the ability to translate strategic goals into implementation plans and mobilize teams to achieve necessary change.

  • Solid clinician skill, understanding of risk management, managed care contraction and national benchmarking and related quality metrics.
