A Supervisor in Textbooks will support the management team, serve as a resource for all departments, a model for customer service, and a driver for sales.
As a Supervisor in the Textbook department you will spend the majority of your time on the sales floor making sure we have the right course material, in the right quantity, at the right time while modeling Wow customer service. You may work directly with campus partners, students, and faculty to increase adoptions, rentals, and promote digital sales while successfully executing our textbook timeline each term.
Spend the majority of your time on the sales floor as a mentor and model of exceptional customer service.
Ability to use department specific technology to answer questions about course material, recommend products and/or services, and locate or obtain materials based on course descriptions or customer needs.
Maintain a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
Maintain an appealing sales floor—tag, shelf, arrange, clean, and organize product or space within the store.
Help resolve customer issues and complaints and escalating to manager, when necessary.
Assist with processing sales transactions.
Part-time positions require availability to work on a weekly basis year round. Schedules may be set or vary to meet the needs of the store an hours will be less than 30 per week.
Frequent movement within the department and the store.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.
High school diploma/GED required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills needed to answer questions and explain features in simplest form to people of various backgrounds and skill.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
