Job Description :

SR Human Resources Business Partner

Job Purpose: Responsible for various human resource activities; including but not limited creating desired workplace culture, employee relations, training, employment law, unemployment claims, on-boarding, surveyor preparedness, and benefits assistance.

Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred

  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills Excellent group facilitation and presentation skills

  • Exhibits good judgment, strategic thinker, and cultural appropriateness. Ability to translate theory into practical application. Ability to think logically and strategically

  • Experience with a healthcare provider or similar service environments preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge of motivation concepts, employee satisfaction, employee engagement, and performance management techniques

  • Proactively interact with key leadership to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements

  • Sense of urgency; high energy level; enjoys being responsive. Energizes self and others. Exhibits hope and enthusiasm.

  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments and new pronouncements/standards relevant to Methodist Health System. As appropriate, attend professional development and training sessions

  • Work Experience: 3-5 years experience in Human Resources Management/Administration

  • Work Experience: Operating knowledge of HR functional areas: Employee Relations, Labor Relations (union avoidance), Employment Law, Recruitment, Retention, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Workforce planning, etc.

Job Roles

  • Assist with new employee /new leader orientations and other organizational effectiveness training workshops as appropriate

  • Identifies and executes opportunities to promote and disseminate information on company culture and values to new and existing employees

  • Collaborates with the business unit's leaders to identify and address opportunities to improve staffing, scheduling and other operational productivity outcomes

  • Maintain a high degree of personal integrity under pressure

  • Resolve conflicts and reinforce an inclusive environment

  • Apply excellent written and verbal communication and people skills

  • Lead projects as assigned

  • Must have strong understanding of employee relations, leadership development, compensation, learning and training and HRIS. Experience with Workday HCM is a plus.

  • Coordinates the intake and resolution of employee grievances in keeping with MHS policies.

  • Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on MHS Human Resources policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Ensure appropriate Human Resource information is provided to business leaders which will support the successful alignment of Human Resource operations, programs, and services across the system.

  • Accountable for developing, fostering, and maintaining an effective Human Resource relationship with assigned business leaders.

  • Determine appropriate measures/metrics needed to provide on-going assessment of change management and process/performance improvement in determining effectiveness on overall business impact.

  • Work with leaders to resolve employee relation issues.
