Job summary

Our team’s mission is to enable the AWS Sales & Marketing field teams to be the most efficient and effective in the world and we are looking for software developers to take on our hardest scalability, performance, and integration problems to achieve that mission. Your job will be building the tools, operations, and workflow processes that underlay the in-house and 3rd party applications used by our field teams. The opportunities are huge, and the impact is massive. The successful candidate will have the ability to shape and build this team and supporting systems for years to come.

Key job responsibilities

As a software developer, you will work closely with multiple teams focussed on data engineering, analytics, orchestration, and security to build highly scalable systems. You should have deep expertise in software development to architect, design, and build tools to help integrate 3rd party tools applications with various systems within the organization. You should have excellent business and interpersonal skills to be able to work with business owners to understand requirements. You should be an authority at crafting, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions.

A day in the life

The software developer will work closely with our program manager to define and scope tasks needed to build solutions for our many sales and marketing teams at AWS. They will transform these tasks into functional code that will enable integrations between 3p software and internal systems.

This role is open to these locations: Seattle, Dallas, Boston and Arlington/DC. Relocation offered from within the US to any of these locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

· Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

· BA/BS in Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience.

· 3+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer

· 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java or Python

· 3+ years experience in JavaScript frameworks: Angular or React

· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Masters in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience

· Experience crafting and implementing highly scalable web services

· Experience building and operating critical, highly available (24x7) systems

· Strong practical understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

· 5+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer;

· Experience building and leading complex, scalable, high-performance software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.

· Experience mentoring/training the engineering community on complex technical issues.

· Experience integrating 3rd party tools with internal systems - such as HR systems, payroll, etc

· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
