Role Summary:

The Senior Marketing Analyst is accountable for executing market research and analysis to support the development of growth enhancing plans for aftermarket pump parts. The analyst works with large amounts of data to provide insight into current portfolio performance and future market trends.

Preferred Job Location: Kalamazoo MI, Houston or Dallas/Fort Worth TX but, we will consider candidates in other markets as well.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Lead primary and secondary market research to gather information about target markets, competition, customer needs, and market trends for aftermarket pump parts

  • Conduct market sizing, market share estimates, and industry/region-specific segment analysis to identify and prioritize growth markets and segments.

  • Use installed base and aftermarket data to compare market penetration and entitlement opportunities for aftermarket parts

  • Develop deeper competitor analysis to drive insights on product positioning and market differentiation that aids in effective go to market strategy.

  • Capture, organize, and prioritize customer needs through internal and external voice of the customer (VOC) programs

• Conduct data analysis, data visualization, presentations, and distribution of actionable information to support improved decision making.

  • Connect and analyze content from multiple internal and external databases using advanced Excel-based, Power BI-based, SQL, or other tools.

  • Develop mechanisms to display meaningful information, including comparison grids, heat maps, dashboards, and various other visualization methods to standardize critical information and show trends.

  • Generate wireframes, interfaces, and structural elements of visualizations to bring meaning to data through generation of PowerBI dashboards.

• Deliver insight into business performance and opportunities.

  • Review historical bookings, sales, and other financial data to derive trends and provide insights into changes in the customer base by region, customer type, sales channel, product type, price, etc.

  • Prepare and present detailed win/loss analysis to evaluate factors that contributed to win/loss of an order through effective interaction and engagement with the sales and operations teams.

  • Analyze data on price, margin, and costs to identify pricing opportunities. Provide recommendations for pricing adjustments and evaluate effectiveness of implemented changes.

• Support product management and marketing communications initiatives

  • Collaborate with new product development teams to develop accurate financial models and business plans.

  • Track and validate market acceptance of new products launched including price realization, revenue, operating income, market penetration, and new customer acquisition.

  • Assess performance of product marketing campaigns and translate quantitative and qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the campaign strategy

  • Mine third party data for customer behavioral trends and communicate opportunities effectively with data and visuals

• Develop process-based capabilities

  • Adopt and institutionalize standard analysis tools and assessment models

  • Use data management tools to make data management more repeatable, consistent, communicable, and efficient

  • Develop processes, procedures, and policies to improve data gathering, analysis and intelligence dissemination by leveraging insights from repeated data requests

  • Design, prepare and communicate common templates, tools, and visualizations (dashboards)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or similar degree or year for year directly related experience

  • At least 2 years of related engineering, analytical, or marketing experience

  • Highly proficient in analytical expertise using tools such as Excel (and advanced add-ins), PowerBI, and SQL

  • Expertise in development of a variety of analytics and charts/graphs to support decisions and identify opportunities

  • Familiarity with product and business performance metrics

  • Rapid turnaround of briefing materials on information and analytical requests

  • Engaging and effective communication and presentation skills

  • Self-motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently on multiple projects

  • Highly organized and collaborative
