Salesforce is embarking on our own Digital Transformation to deliver customer success for our customers and accelerate our growth. A key pillar of this transformation is creating a single view of all of our prospects, customers, admins, partners, and end-users through an integrated customer data strategy and management program.

We’re looking for an experienced, analytical data engineer to help build a holistic view of all customer and prospect touchpoints across digital and physical channels globally using Salesforce technologies (C360 Audiences, C360 Data Manager). This engineer will help with data acquisition, data integration, dataset creation, and how we make the data available for Salesforce marketers, sales teams, support teams, and operational teams.

The right candidate brings world-class business understanding on the value of connecting all customer data along with the technical aptitude required to manage high volume transactional data sets. This candidate will have experience integrating and applying customer data for marketing segmentation, targeting, and personalization.

This engineer will drive the technical implementation of Salesforce’s own customer data platform (CDP) and partner closely with the Salesforce product teams to inform the future roadmap. This involves organizing the data streams to be integrated into our CDP, designing and managing the identity resolution rules for each contact and account using C360 Data Manager(DM), defining and managing the attributes for each customer record, and creating analytical datasets that will empower segmentation and personalization across channels.


  • Build data pipelines to deliver a single view of customers and prospects that includes their identities, key attributes (direct and computed), a record of all interactions with Salesforce, and recommendations

  • Participate in/drive the data architecture, integration, and implementation of Salesforce’s suite of Customer 360 Truth products. Align Salesforce product teams, technical teams, and data teams on a common roadmap and integration program.

  • Be an expert in engineering data platforms, data model and data engineering to build a single source of truth using Salesforce C360A

  • Defining the data connectors for data ingestion, modeling, and metadata-based extensibility for the Customer Data Platform.

  • Work with multiple stakeholder teams across MarTech, AdTech, Personalization, and data teams to understand the needs and build data products.

  • Partner closely with data and operations teams throughout Salesforce. This program will require extensive engineering and business coordination to be successful.

  • Lead a team culture of critical thinking, creativity, innovation, experimentation, diversity, and inclusivity that aligns with Salesforce's core values and enriches the impact, careers, and learning opportunities across the Digital team.

  • Be a trusted advisor to the product teams and help influence the product roadmap


  • Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) and data management platforms (DMPs)

  • Strong data engineering background - experience with data warehousing and big data technologies required. GCP experience a huge plus

  • Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques and high-volume ETL/ELT design.

  • Strong SQL optimization and performance tuning experience in a high volume data environment that utilizes parallel processing. GCP platform experience is a plus.

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc

  • Experience with Salesforce products, including Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud, as well as knowledge of each platform’s data model and API integrations between these applications.

  • Experience implementing MarTech tools for B2B such as reporting, ABM, data/CDP, attribution

  • Experience working with large datasets, data pipelines, and a strong understanding of segmentation best practices

  • Strong understanding of personalization technologies, such as Salesforce Interaction Studio

  • Salesforce product certifications - Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud - a huge plus

  • You have a passion for MarTech Solutions - including, but not limited to: GMP/Salesforce/Twilio, Appsflyer/Braze/Localytics, Adobe Analytics/Google Analytics
