This is a remote, work-from-home position, and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply in the continental U.S., with the exception of candidates from Colorado, California, Washington, and New York.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant Data Capture analyzes, classifies and reviews both routine and complex accounting transactions and activities in accordance with GAAP.  This position interprets accounting results and advises management with respect to those results, interacting regularly with cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Prepare, review and/or record a variety of routine to complex accounting transactions and journal entries covering all aspects of the balance sheet and P&L in accordance with GAAP, inclusive of inventory and revenue/deferred revenue.

  • Develop and review reports throughout the month to ensure invoices are properly processing through the general ledger and revenue is being properly recorded (both point in time and overtime), to provide for a more efficient and timely month-end close process.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and identify/correct issues identified in the account reconciliation process to ensure the balance sheet is correct.

  • Assist with developing or modifying accounting policies and ensure systems and procedures follow company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations, especially with respect to all revenue transactions.

  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are properly documented and updated

     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Minimum four years of accounting experience

  • Working knowledge of accounting applications in a computerized environment

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization, as well as external resources.

  • Open and responsive to change, including the ability to affect change within the company.

  • Ability to identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to needs of internal customers.

  • Solid history with detailed account reconciliations

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Experience and proficiency in applying GAAP accounting principles and concepts 

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPEREINCE

  • Experience actively using NetSuite

  • CPA (active or inactive)
