Your Role and Responsibilities

Job description

As a security pre-sales Technical Specialist, you are IBM's technical consultant for IBM's zSecure product suite. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, collaborating with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects, determine the feasibility of proposed solutions, deliver solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, and proof of concepts. You will support technical escalations, design solutions, and answer technical questions throughout the sales process to progress and close sales and develop customer relationships.

As a subject matter expert in Security trends and imperatives, you will provide thought leadership, strategy and executive presence to expand zSecurity software sales. You will be part of a highly matrix team including client executives, software brand reps, IBM Consulting services, and Business partners. This role is part of zStack Software Security pre-sales team.

Further Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Software Sales Reps, Account Technical Leaders and Client Technical Architects to provide technical guidance, expertise and sales assistance

  • Call on customers at all levels of the business during all stages of the sales cycle

  • Hold discussions with a wide range of attendees including technical and business executives, management, and technical staff

  • Maintain understanding of the client's industry, including industry trends, industry business processes

Key Attributes:

  • Ability to understand business problems and articulate a solution based on security software technology

  • Strong knowledge of selling/deploying security solutions in all industries.

  • Understanding of security competitive technologies

  • Demonstrated communication and customer engagement skills

  • Proven presentation and organizational skills

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years experience working with the z/OS operating system and software solutions

  • Working knowledge of the IBM RACF security solution

  • At least 1 year experience in selling enterprise solutions in the security market with history of technical sales success

  • Basic knowledge of current security threats, what to look for and how to mitigate them

  • Basic knowledge of various security regulations such as HIPAA, STIG, PCI, etc..

  • Readiness to travel 50% annuallyEnglish: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 2 years experience in Consultative Selling

  • Knowledge of specific security software solutions including CA-Top Secret, and/or CA-ACF2

  • Knowledge of competitive security landscape

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Certified in CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar
