About The Role 

Simply put – you love people, you love dogs, and you love talking to people about dogs! In this role, you will be responsible for converting leads into first-time Barkbus clients and ensuring that viable pets are booked into the schedule for the Pet Stylist team.  This is a crucial role that serves as a Pet Parent’s first human touchpoint with Barkbus. You will be responsible for welcoming and building the foundation for lasting relationships with these Pet Parents by understanding their pain points and selling the full-picture of the Barkbus value proposition to showcase why we’re the solution to those pain points. 

As a New Business Sales Associate in a rapidly scaling startup, you have the opportunity to further fuel the company’s growth by managing a high volume of both incoming & outbound leads via phone, email, and text.  The ideal candidate loves taking initiative to ensure an excellent client experience, never takes “no” for an answer, and thrives on flexibly adapting in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Bringing high energy, excitement, and enthusiasm to every single call is a must in order to succeed in this role!

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a professional, efficient, and friendly initial point of contact for all new clients, providing insight into their grooming inquiries and provide an elevated experience for both Pet Stylists and clients. 

  • Proactively reach out to all hot, warm, and “cool” leads in our system to confirm appointments utilizing Barkbus prospecting tools, community engagement, and other potential channels of appointment sourcing. Always be closing!

  • Achieve the individual monthly revenue target by answering every single inbound call on the first ring to maximize new client conversion.

  • Handle a high volume of requests while maintaining the ability to perform detailed administrative tasks such as entering client data into our CRM, scheduling appointments, and sending text communications.

  • Master the art of discovery questions to better understand each potential new client’s pain points & goals, and share the relevant Barkbus value proposition points to speak to how we can solve their unique grooming needs. 

  • Be excited to learn details around specific dog characteristics & local geography to achieve operational excellence.

  • Strive to strategically schedule appointments to minimize drive-time, reduce service refusals, & create efficiency within groomer schedules.

    Required Qualifications

  • Must be both a people and dog lover!

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working in a client-facing sales role.

  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization.

  • Proficient with Google productivity suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc).

  • Ability to work weekends.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary starting at $55,000

  • Annual bonus target of $18,000

  • Stock Options upon required tenure
