Job Description:

The Export Compliance Specialist plays a key role in the Research Security and Ethics program within the Office of Research and Innovation by performing export control policy compliance responsibilities and coordinating program development and training activities that ensure individual and institutional compliance with relevant federal regulations and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required and one to three years of experience in research compliance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Professional experience with US federal export control regulations.

  • Ability to manage a detail-oriented workload while working on multiple projects simultaneously, and organizing and prioritizing the workload.

  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, absolute discretion regarding confidential matters discretion, and tact.

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and groups.

  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships and offer excellent customer service and professionalism.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint). Training will be provided for the use of other software as required (RedCap, Box, DMPTool, TeamDynamix, custom internal applications).

  • Must have excellent verbal and communication skills.
