Microsoft is growing its Telecoms Professional Services team, and we are looking for an exceptionally talented delivery Field Engineerto join the team, whoispassionateabout building Voice networks thatwill beresponsible for designing, implementing and testing our world class Voice over LTE products into our key customers’ networks focusing onreliability, security and customer success.

The Telecoms Professional Services team deploys Microsoft and partner products to provide next generation voice services in over 1000 carriers’ networks. Our customers have consistently reported the exceptional quality of our delivery and ongoing customer support as one of our key differentiators.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring overall project success and customer satisfaction to drive business growth and renewal.

  • Work with the solution architect in designing customer specific deployments with components that work together to deliver their commercial needs.

  • Configure and integrate our VoLTE solutions into existing telecommunication networks with zero service impact.

  • Identify new value-add opportunities and support pre-sales processes providing Professional Services input to help Account Managers win new business.

  • Ensuring that issues found are tracked and driven to resolution.

  • Share experience and lessons learned to help evolve Metaswitch’s product and service portfolio as offered to other customers.

  • Act as a mentor for other team members in your area of expertise.

  • Work with your manager to meet billable utilization targets each quarter.

  • Work with the Project Managers to prioritize activities and maximize revenue recognition.

  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers and anticipate escalations, working to untangle difficult situations before they become a risk to the project.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS orPhDdegree in Computer Science,Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5-10 years’ vendor support or service provider operational experience with 2-5 years’ experience with 4G telecommunication standards.

Preferred Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building or operating a large-scale voice network.

  • Expert level of SIP telephony architecture and protocols as used in the core of modern service provider networks, ideally in an IMS or VoLTE environment.

  • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems.

  • Experience with virtual network functions in Openstack, VMWare, and Azure.

  • Strong background in IPv4/v6 networking, DNS, switching and routing.

  • Energy, enthusiasm, versatility and creativity.

  • Goal oriented.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance is a plus
