Job Description:

The Department of Neuroscience and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at UT Dallas has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate to join the Price Lab.

The Research Associate will be primarily responsible for planning, conducting and directing a wide variety of experiments. Responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of research data. This position will conduct experiments using advanced equipment and applying complex techniques, methods and procedures; plan and execute the details of experiments according to research protocol.

This specific position will work on NIH grant funded projects that are aimed at better understanding how neuronal plasticity alters the way the brain receives nociceptive information from the sensory system and how this relates to chronic pain. The project focuses on RNA sequencing methods to understand the molecular make-up of human dorsal root ganglion cells and human spinal cord cells.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D in a related field.

  • 3-5 years of research experience in human molecular pain models with experience in RNA sequencing and RNA sequencing data analysis.

  • Development of computational analysis methods is important for the position.
