Paramedic - Emergency Department

Fast-paced, high volume Emergency department is looking for top skilled Paramedics. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours:

  • Full Time, 36 hours/week.

  • Three 12-hour Night shifts per week, 7:00pm – 7:00am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Emergency Department highlights:

  • High volume, high acuity Emergency Department that is the starting point for 65,000+ patients annually as we function as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and major tertiary care hospital for the entire DFW Metroplex and beyond.

  • Skills within this role include, but are not limited to splinting, ultrasound guided IV access, critical care, medication administration, and more in collaboration with Physicians, RNs, LVNs, and PCTs of the Emergency Department and Texas Health Dallas.

  • Very engaged Unit Based Council that helps with working out operational goals.

  • Expanding the scope of paramedics within the organization to allow for skill development .

Here’s What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent, required

  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required

  • 1 year paramedic experience in EMS or fire department, preferred

  • 2 years of recent Paramedic experience in an acute care hospital Emergency Room setting or EMT highly preferred.

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT- P), or,

  • Licensed Paramedic (LP) upon hire required.

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 Days of hire date And

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required And

  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within 90 Days of hire date And

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 Days of hire date

  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced environment, positive interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills, able to perform basic computer skills.

What You Will Do

Texas Health Dallas Paramedics are responsible for providing an excellent patient healthcare experience at each Texas Health site.

  • Performs technical skills that are adapted to reflect the population-specific, developmental and diversity needs of the patient.

  • Provides safe patient care under the delegation of appropriate Physician and competency sign-off.

  • Other duties as appropriately delegated by RN.
