This position can be home based.

Responsibilities

The National Sr. Director of Business Development will be responsible for leading the sales efforts of the American Heart Association's Professional Education HUB into healthcare institutions at the C-suite level. This individual will focus exclusively on new business acquisition, developing prospects through individual efforts and participation in organization-sponsored events and campaigns. They will lead a team of Business Development Managers to drive revenue growth by acquiring new clients and ensuring that the Professional Education HUB is positioned as the premier solution for healthcare education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to promote and sell the American Heart Association's Professional Education HUB to healthcare institutions at the senior executive level.

  • Lead a team of Business Development Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure they meet individual and team revenue goals.

  • Focus on the acquisition of new high-profile clients and large-scale deals, aiming to exceed revenue and profit objectives.

  • Manage and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare institutions, ensuring the Professional Education HUB is aligned with their educational needs and goals.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales efforts with the broader organizational objectives, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.

  • Set and achieve sales targets, providing regular updates on progress to senior leadership.

  • Identify opportunities for product improvements and expansion of sales channels, contributing to the continuous growth of the Professional Education HUB.

  • Represent the American Heart Association at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the Professional Education HUB and expand the network of potential clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Two (2) years of recent experience in Health System Sales (C-suite.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, with at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Proven track record of selling complex solutions to healthcare institutions, particularly at the C-suite level.

  • Experience managing and developing a high-performing sales team.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve ambitious goals.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives.

  • Deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the educational needs of healthcare institutions.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and forecasts effectively.

  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required to meet with clients and attend events.
