Job Description:

The University of Texas at Dallas Libraries and Archives are seeking a collaborative and service-oriented candidate for the position of Metadata Librarian. This position manages and provides access to the government document collection in accordance with the Federal Depository Library Program ( FDLP ) and the collection policies of the UT Dallas Libraries. This position is a member of Metadata Services and reports to the Head of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA -accredited institution; experience in working with an integrated library system, preferably ExLibris’ Alma; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience working with an integrated library system, preferably ExLibris’ Alma.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Two years of cataloging experience in an academic library.

  • Experience working with government documents or knowledge of the Federal Depository Library Program.

  • Proficiency in batch-editing MARC records and experience working with MarcEdit.

  • Experience working with Alma and Primo.
