Historically, the travel requirement for this position has ranged from 80-100%. KPMG is currently seeking a Manager/Director in Risk Strategy & Compliance - FS Regulartory & Compliance for our Consulting (https://advisory.kpmg.us/) practice.
Assist financial services clients (traditional and non-bank) with assessing enterprise-wide compliance, including compliance risk management programs as well as targeted regulations and requirements, such as: Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Unfair Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) and other of the federal consumer regulatory guidance
Fully comprehend, adapt quickly, and deploy a variety of problem-solving approaches; facilitate critical thinking of the team, draw out meaningful insight, and incorporate them into broader solution
Establish and communicate vision, goals, and expectations of the team for high-quality product and service; communicate complex topics in easily understandable language; leverage strong written communication skills in order to provide meaningful recommendations to clients (e.g., in reports, presentation)
Develop structured and detailed work plans that enable monitoring of project activities and deliverables; schedule, plan, assign, and provide direction and review the work of the team members working on assigned engagements
Coach, mentor, and develop staff by impacting knowledge, skills, and experience
Contribute to industry and regulatory publications, write professional articles, and speak about current compliance issues at external seminars; proactively participate in consumer compliance regulatory business development efforts for primary target clients
Additional Responsibilities for Director:
Lead business development efforts for primary target clients; Serve as a 'senior voice' on the team in client interactions
Has full command of industry/functional best practice and can relate these to specific internal and client challenges
Ensure engagement team is appropriately staffed and balances project needs with practice needs to train/develop resources; serve as a leader in recruiting and retention efforts to develop the practice
A minimum of five years of recent and applicable consumer compliance regulatory work experience in more than one of the following areas: enterprise wide compliance, privacy and customer information security, fair lending, CRA, compliance risk management programs, and UDAAP
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
Previous experience leading teams, managing projects, and accustomed to taking an active role in executing engagements
Demonstrated track record of client service and business development
Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives
Ability to travel up to 80-100%

Additional Qualifications for Director:
A minimum of eight years of recent and applicable consumer compliance regulatory work experience in more than one of the following areas: enterprise wide compliance, privacy and customer information security, fair lending, CRA, compliance risk management programs, and UDAAP
Progressive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects
Possess strong client service and client management skills, and a demonstrated track record of driving business development efforts in an advisory environment
