Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director of the Cleanroom Research Laboratory, the Engineering Technician will order chemicals and consumables, perform equipment preventative maintenance & repairs on various electro-mechanical equipment, and on-board new cleanroom user requests. The Engineering Technician will work with other Cleanroom staff to support the daily operation and maintenance of the laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting various support equipment such as chemical hoods, etchers, spinners, hotplates, contact printers, and various metrology equipment. The candidate will also install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot as needed, various critical utilities such as UPS , supply of CDA , DI water,

nitrogen, and chemical waste neutralization tank.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. A minimum of two years experience with lab equipment and related facilities.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Preferred experience:

  • Two (2) years of experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semiconductor equipment.

Preferred skills

  • Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, and computers.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs.

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts, and cause and effect diagrams.

  • Must be detail-oriented, have effective communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, and ability to work independently and with the team.

  • Must be detail-oriented, a problem solver as well as a decision maker.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
