Description Summary

The position is responsible for development and testing of vendor developed point-of-sale (POS) and fuel control devices for petroleum c-store retail locations. The individual will be a subject matter expert and final escalation point in solving POS technology problems and works with operations and support teams to monitor and improve on performance issues. The position works with various internal departments to gather requirements for various Marketing, Payment, and/or Regulatory initiatives, and engages with external POS vendors to enable the functionality for future solution builds. The position configures lab equipment to mirror field conditions, performs transaction testing, and authors technician best practice installation documentation for installations and upgrades.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Gathering, and prioritizing business and regulatory requirements for POS system changes – maintaining a list of feature requests, vendor proposals, delivery dates, general status and tracking vendor roadmap

Collaboration with internal and external teams in developing new features and providing written business requirements to vendor

Creation of test plans and oversee efforts by quality assurance and field trial analyst to drive high quality, high reliability solutions

Analyzing test results and system performance and making determinations on field readiness

Review vendor documents for accuracy and inclusion of updates

Attend field beta installations and make improvements to scope documents and install processes

Act as liaison to vendor technical staff for solving problems and implementing new solutions

Consultant to business and other analysts on interoperability, etc.

Controlling approved software releases and disseminating updates to operations and technical community

Work with beta test coordinator to evaluate readiness for production rollout

Escalation point between Sunoco technical support personnel and technical project staff
