This role will report to: Manager of Infrastructure Operations.
Install/De-install network and server assets in domestic and international colocation environments
Cable network and server assets in a clean and orderly manner that is in accordance with cabling standards
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for remote engineers
Produce installation documentation
Ability to lead deployments and augments of PoPs in person and or remotely
Maintain a physical inventory of network and server assets globally
Be an internal subject matter expert in data center operations participating in the planning of infrastructure deployments.
REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:
Highly motivated self-starter who can handle multiple projects and tasks autonomously
Strong ability to clearly communicate through various mediums
Thorough knowledge of data center infrastructure and environments
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn, improve, innovate and teach
High-level understanding of server hardware
High-level understanding of network topology, routing and switching protocols
Ability to interface with functional team management and members
Proficiency with Excel
Proficiency with modeling software (Visio, etc)
Understanding of redundancy practices
Understanding of various media types: Cat6, Direct Attach Cables, Single-mode fiber, and Multi-mode fiber along with various optical connectors
Fundamental understanding of low voltage electricity (120 volt, 208 volt, 220 volt)
Ability to work with team members in remote international locations with limited to no face-to-face interaction
Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
Ability to lift 35 kilograms
3+ years of working within a Data Center environment
3+ years in a fast paced Information Technology environment
Experience working with Remote Hands Providers a Plus
