Texas Instruments FT Handler Interface Test Engineer in Dallas, Texas

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that drives test technology infrastructure for testing of highly integrated semiconductor devices going into markets with significant growth potential. The ideal candidate would have a semiconductor test background that enables management of test cell for Final Test. This role ensures the integrity of the Handler test solutions produced in the supply chain and used inside TI factories and subcons. This individual proactively drives the supplier roadmaps to continually be well ahead of TI business technology roadmaps so we are always prepared for product ramp of new product test needs. This role requires high collaboration with Procurement and Handler/Final Test suppliers while taking input from the businesses, factories, internal Packaging Test Technology (PTT) teams and other Test Technology Solutions (TTS) internal facing teams.

Responsibilities include:

· Interact extensively with Packaging, Test & Quality (PTQ), Advanced Technology Development (ATD), Business Unit (BU) teams and Handler/socket suppliers to meet product development needs

· Act as the primary representative for Test Technology Solutions in developing next generation handler solutions that are needed to meet TI business product test roadmaps and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCOO)

· Innovative solutions to create a hybrid solution to achieve max throughput to meet TCOO

· Own and document Handler qualification & testing requirements needed to prove new technologies are acceptable for use in TI applications

· Execute and own all new supplier qualifications for handler solution by validating them in lab environment and deploy the solution to Assembly/Test (A/T) sites

· Collaborate with A/T sites and drive corrective actions with suppliers that relate directly to the quality of their technology

· Organize and drive supplier technology review meetings with vendors to manage overall supplier technical performance

· Define deliverables, conformance, specifications, and procedures that we hold suppliers accountable to and own all communications & training of these requirements to the suppliers

· International and domestic travel may be required periodically to visit suppliers and factories

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field of study

  • 5 years of related experience in Semiconductor Test

  • Extensive knowledge on Final Test handler solutions that include PnP, Strip and Turret handlers

  • Knowledge of key test BKMs relative to package type and test parameters for handler solution selection

  • Knowledge of electrical test requirements for Analog, Mixed Signal, Digital and RF semiconductors

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in root-cause analysis and different problem-solving methods

  • Experienced in FMEA, DOE and risk assessment, with strong understanding of different quality-management tools and methods

  • Knowledge of test related electrical requirements like CRES, inductance, capacitance, current carrying capability

  • Experience to work with POD’s & generate mechanical keepout drawings for test hardware

  • Familiar with testers and other test hardware to adapt and incorporate robust handler test solutions

  • Proficiency with Auto-CAD, Solidworks and other data analysis tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

  • Strong analytics and problem-solving Skills

  • Strong program management skills that enable on-time project delivery

  • Working well in a team environment, external suppliers is imperative in this role.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships

  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
