Forward Air Director, Product Marketing in Dallas, Texas

Position: Director, Product Marketing

Job Description:

The Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for supporting the go-to-market strategy for Forward Air’s suite of transportation and supply chain solutions, including domestic international logistics services. This leader will play a crucial role in positioning our products, creating compelling messaging, and enabling sales teams with the tools they need to drive revenue growth in highly competitive markets.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales Enablement, this role requires a deep understanding of B2B transportation and logistics, as well as the ability to translate complex solutions into customer-centric value propositions. The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and hands-on execution expertise in product marketing.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute product marketing strategies that drive market awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement.

  • Define clear value propositions, positioning, and messaging frameworks for ground LTL and international supply chain solutions.

  • Partner with sales, product management, and operations to develop and refine go-to-market strategies.

  • Own product launches, ensuring successful commercialization and adoption of new services.

  • Sales Enablement & Demand Generation:

  • Create and maintain sales enablement materials, including presentations, battle cards, case studies, and ROI calculators.

  • Lead training initiatives for sales teams to ensure they effectively communicate product benefits and differentiation.

  • Develop targeted marketing campaigns to drive demand and generate high-quality leads for sales.

  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer pain points, and growth opportunities.

  • Build data-driven insights to shape product positioning and differentiation strategies.

  • Provide thought leadership on industry trends and customer challenges, influencing product roadmap decisions.

  • Content & Digital Marketing Support:

  • Collaborate with the content marketing and digital teams to create compelling storytelling, white papers, blogs, and webinars.

  • Develop product-specific marketing collateral that supports sales and enhances brand perception.

  • Partner with demand generation teams to drive engagement through digital channels, including SEO, paid media, and email marketing.

  • Customer Advocacy & Case Studies:

  • Work closely with account teams to develop customer case studies and testimonials that demonstrate real-world impact.

  • Establish programs to gather customer insights and feedback, ensuring a voice-of-the-customer approach to product marketing.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in the transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully launching and marketing B2B services, ideally in a high-growth or large-scale organization.

  • Experience in developing sales enablement materials and supporting sales teams in competitive markets

  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of the LTL, freight, and international supply chain sectors.

  • Strong storytelling and messaging skills with the ability to simplify complex solutions.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics).

  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA preferred.
