About the Job
In order to support growth and increase manufacturing capacity, Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an Experienced Facilities Civil and Structural Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team within World-Wide Design & Construction. This engineer will be directly responsible for major Design including but not limited to Greenfield, Brownfield and Major Expansions on existing semiconductor manufacturing and non-manufacturing facilities. This is a TI Corporate Role that will be supporting new and existing Wafer Fabs and Assembly Test sites Worldwide . Also, in an effort to develop reliable facilities and increase construction efficiency, these Designs will become Standards . Furthermore, this role will entail researching and developing New and Innovative Technologies and systems to be implemented within TI facilities to enhance reliability and drive down cost in state-of-the-art manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Major Construction Design and Support of the following systems:
Building Architectural and Structural
Site Planning
Site Roads
Water Management Features
Transportation and Parking Management
Subsurface Utilities and Routing
Pipe Racks, Thrust Blocks, and Load Bearing Supports
Foundation Structures and Systems
Roofing Systems
Seismic Analysis and Dampening Systems
Fire Protection Systems
System Design Responsibilities:
Owner Project Design Requirements
Manufacturing Equipment Utility Demands
System Design Capacity vs Demand Analysis
Space Management Considerations
Sustainability Considerations
Collaboration with existing site operations and maintenance teams for design input
Permitting and Building Code compliance related to mechanical systems and associated infrastructure
Ensure developed designs are standardized and ready for use for future design projects
Construction Support Activities:
Submittal Review and Approval
Timely Request for Information (RFI) resolution
Alternate equipment selection approval
Construction site visits and verification of design
Supplier Responsibilities – One responsibility of this role will be contracting with external design firms for additional support:
Design Scope Statement of Work
Project management of design scopes
Financial responsibilities managing design scope budget
Technological Innovation:
Develop new strategies of implementing systems to improve reliability, cost, and construction efficiencies
Participate and contribute to technology forums both internal and external representing Texas Instruments
Involvement and Participation in the TI Technical Ladder Organization

Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related
5 years of experience in Semiconductor Facilities and/or Engineering or Construction
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to manage and direct technicians and contractors as well as coordinate multiple design and contractor disciplines on a variety of projects
Independent, self-motivated and with high standard of professional integrity
Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership and stewardship as well as exhibit skills and competencies to drive success with critical facility systems
Excellent facilitation and communication skills necessary to interface with business partners, external suppliers, team members, technologists and peers. Must be able to build and maintain strong, positive and lasting relationships through collaboration
Applicant should also have the following skills: leadership, effective communications, organizational, presentation and problem solving
Flexibility to travel internationally
Proficient to Microsoft office software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and AutoCAD
Able to create construction drawings, details, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), etc.
Fire Protection and Process system operation skill is a plus
Familiarity with building, mechanical, and fire codes
