Job Description:

Join Ferguson’s truly talented Marketing Intelligence Team where we are dedicated to facilitating data driven marketing to support omni-channel experiences for our customers.

Ferguson is currently seeking a standout junior level Data Engineer to work within the Data Governance and Orchestration Team in the Marketing Department. The Data Engineer will provide end-to-end assistance with data pipeline from Azure to our Marketing Cloud Technologies while supporting and optimizing the Marketing Data Architecture construct. This includes ETL, designing & building data models, data validation, and managing uptime. You will work closely alongside teams within our Marketing and IT departments to best align support for Marketing Technology data requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build data models using SQL

  • Maintain, modify, and build upon the current Marketing Database and Data Architecture in Azure

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: increase data integrity, automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery

  • Manage data refresh processes and uptime

  • Translate Marketing requirements into structured data flows

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, Altreyx, Power BI, etc.

  • Build automated Processes using scripting tools

  • Perform extensive data validation

  • Communicate effectively with Marketing colleagues and business stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience building and validating data models

  • Self-motivated, team player, take initiative, quick learner, systematic, adaptable, etc.

  • Strong SQL skills required for building tables, views, and implementing complex logic

  • Ability to learn and use database software (SQL)

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Solid problem solving, numerical fluency, and analytical skills

  • Experience facilitating data flow within Cloud Marketing Technologies

  • Familiar with Marketing applications such as Saleforce, Oracle Marketing Cloud, Adobe Marketing Cloud, Marketo, etc.

  • BA or BS degree in Business, Marketing, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related field

  • Experience with Power BI / Tableau, Power Pivot, SAP, SAP Analysis for Office, BPC, Bex Query Designer.

  • Experience in analyzing data within relational database systems such as MS Access, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.

  • Experience with ETL Tools such as Alteryx, Paxata, DataGuru or equivalent technologies, preferred.

  • Experience with Data analysis in Python using Pandas/Numpy/Jupyter Notebooks, preferred.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and business logic.

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with superb attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
